The Barb Krukemeier Scholarship

The Indiana State Assembly board members would like to take a moment to acknowledge those who have made a difference in our state.

 

Throughout our 25 years as a State Assembly, we have seen countless great leaders and mentors grace us with their presence and enthusiasm. They have been an integral part in helping with the growth and success of our Indiana State Assembly. Not only do we, the Board, value and appreciate the efforts made by these individuals, all attendees see the work that has been done by them as well.

Barb Krukemeier has demonstrated compelling leadership throughout her many years of hard-work and dedication in and for our profession. She has precepted countless students and orientees throughout her years and helped build the character and skills of countless surgical technologists. She offers support, knowledge and honesty to those who are in need of guidance....and for those who didn’t know they needed it.

She has been a CST and an AST member for 45 years and not only has she mentored 2 past AST presidents, she has also received AST’s highest honor: The Legacy Award.

It is with great pleasure, that the Indiana State Assembly present the Barb Krukemeier Scholarship. This scholarship grants an AST member, who has not attended an AST national conference, a chance to attend and to help cultivate them into a great leader.

The requirements for the scholarship will comprise of completed application, current CV, an essay of no more than 1000 words and a letter of recommendation from one of your leaders AND a peer that you work with often. The essay and letters of recommendation should explain your leadership skills and how attending AST National Conference can help grow said skills.

The application process will be open starting Friday, April 1st. Please send the required documents to: indianaastscholarship@gmail.com NO LATER than Friday, August 18th.

 

All submissions after the deadline will be void. The recipient of the Barb Krukemeier Scholarship will be announced at Fall Conference on Saturday, September 16th.
